Besides recessing all the time and avoiding the vote, when a majority of Massachusetts voters reject gay marriage - why are they not allowing the voters of the state to decide what goes on in the state? By the way, yes I am totally against Gay Marriage.

Ok, Massachusetts is a very liberal state and the judicial branch of state government already is allowing Gay Marriage - but they are not letting the citizens vote on the issue.

Because liberals never want the people to have their way, that is why we have roe vs. wade and other bad cases. They want judges to decide for us. Good luck with that in Taxachusetts.

It is simple, you do vote for or against gay marriage every time you have an election. You vote for those that you want to represent your thoughts on this subject. If you do not like the decisions that these Representatives are making for you then you have to vote them out and vote people in that are also against gay marriage. This is democracy, this is the way it is suppose to happen. It would be the same if you have a legislature that was against gay marriage and you were for it. You could work to change things by electing people that will represent you the way that you want. Oh and by the way I'm indifferent to gay marriage. I do not think it effects anything in my life what other people do in this case and what goes on behind closed doors is the business of the people that are doing it. I would not base my vote on this issue, there are many more important things to me that need to be addressed.

Simple, it would give power to the people.Power given is power lost.Gay Marriage is just the latest issue. If they let you decide that.
What would the people want to decide next?

Perhaps they think that the voters of Massachussetts are too stupid to vote on anything important. There's evidence enough, look what you keep doing with your Senate choices.
