There is no official dress code at the Ivy - I have been there in a suit and also in trainers. It tries to be a warm, friendly place so it is not particularly formal. Some people choose to dress up and some are in suits as they have come from work, but it is entirely up to you. Because it is a favourite of some celebrities some assume that it is formal, but it is not. Enjoy your meal!

If you're going during the afternoon go for Dim Sum in Chinatown! Dim Sum is completely child and family friendly without being a theme park. There are many dim sum restaurants along Gerrard Street (the main strip in Chinatown) that do this special lunch menu. If you're unfamiliar with Dim Sum, its kind of like a Chinese Tapas, you get to pick and choose lots of smaller inexpensive dishes and share them around. I tend to go to Golden Dragon and Gerrard's Corner. But if you want one that has the traditional trolleys with the food being pushed by the waitress (that way you can see what you've ordered and eat it immediately!) go to New World just off Gerrard Street. Oh and its great value for money! Have fun!

Depends on how rich and famous you are, the more money you have the less bothered they are about what you wear. Top tip.............if you try to book a table and they say they are full, ring back later using the name of a celebraty and 9 times out of 10, you will get a table, when you turn up just say you are with so and so's party.
