I heard that the chapstick product carmex takes the natural softners out which makes your lips become more chapped... making you become in a way addicted to there product. This leads to a person buying more of there product and them making more money. Is it true ? Does carmex make your lips more chapped for you to continue using it?

No. Your body(and mind, for that matter) simply gets so used to the feeling of having the stuff on your lips that you just feel naked without it and you keep applying it. There is no scientific proof that chapstick or anything else for that matter causes an addiction..

It's probably true. Look at what the tobacco industry's been doing to cigarettes all these years. Some fast food places have used food "enhancers" too and it keeps people addicted.
