i have a good friend that is in the hospital. He has been a alcohic as long as I have known him. The doctors have done dialistis but nothing. now his kidneys and liver are not funtioning. His blood is not clotting... can anyone give me an idea of how long it will take his body to completely shut down with nothing working. His heart is strong. They are no longer draining the fuilds out of his stomach...it's just a wait game.. I'm just tring to get an idea.

I have a nephew in law in hospice right now in the same condition. He was in ICU for a month and they just moved him to hospice. He is comatose but still alive. Death should be imminent but there is no set time.

I am sorry for what is happening. My father died 5 days within stopping dialysis. It was peaceful and painelss. We aere all able to talk to him and say our goodbyes.
I am sorry that I could not give you more hopeful answer.
