Why have you allowed her to get pregnant?
A female is sexually mature at 6 months, if she is pregnant, take her to the vets immediately for an abortion, she will be able to give birth but she will be in a lot of pain and may refused to acknowledge the kittens because of her immaturity. AND THEY WILL DIE.
Book an appointment tomorrow morning, and get her neutered at the same time.

cats are induced ovulators so go into season and go through an entire oestrus cycle over and over again until mated. this lasts through the breeding season usually from spring to summer. it is a Little out of season but with the weather recently and cats not caring what season it is she could well be pregnant.
if pregnant she will have an enlarged abdomen - almost pot bellied to look at / put weight on / be more hungry / have enlarged and swollen nipples. on some cats you can see a blood supply (vessels to the area protruding to the surface of the skin). dependant on the stage of pregnancy the vet/nurse can feel small masses in her abdomen and by this alone can decide if pregnant.(dependant on stage of pregnancy)
she could also have an ultrasound scan to identify kittens in her uterine horns.
pregnancy usually lasts from 63 - 65 days. (around two months or so)
your vet/nurse should be able to cheaply tell you if she is.
she definitely can be pregnant at 5 months old. we have kittens of this age into my work place nearly every day!!!

the female isn't somewhat the right age. The male is the right age to mate. Get the male cat fixed. In yet another month or extra the female cat will probably come into warmth. between the 1st signs and indicators of a pregnant pussycat is a transformation in the nipples. The nipples will grow to be pink and start to crust like they're drying out. After the male and woman get accomplished fooling around the female will roll to and fro on the floor.

Actually cats can have a heat cycle as young as 4 months, I've seen it many times at the shelter I work at.
For heavens sake, don't let an unspayed cat outdoor regardless of age. You can get her spayed at 2lbs so at 5 months she weighs more than that, get her done now preg. or not.
She is far too young to go through a pregnancy, she could very well die giving birth.

The only way to be sure is to take her to the vet. He may be able to feel some life but if he cannot then the vet might be able to organise a scan for this. This is quite expensive though

If you think that she even has a chance of being pregnant GET HER TO THE VET TO BE SPAYED ASAP! At 5 months your cat could DIE giving birth, she's just a baby herself. Go get her spayed immediately, don't even wait long enough to see signs. This is your cats life.

Has your kitten been through a heat cycle? If not the swollen tummy you think could be pregnancy could actually be illness. Take kitty to the vet to be sure!

Skin around the nipples draws back and nipples protrude. about 8 weeks to birth. please keep Kittens 8 weeks before placing them they longer with mother the better their chances. My dog addopted them as nieces and newphews first week and spoils them every time we visit then

She should never have been allowed to get in a situation where she is liable to get pregnant. If she's not pregnant, get her neutered ASAP.

Take her to the Vet. Did you let her out knowing she was not fixed?
