Get her involved in something. Is there a vet or a shelter nearby? If she can't have her dog, helping other animals is the next best thing. I remeber volunteering at the local no-kill shelter, It was very rewarding emotionally, and she's get to be around animals.

That's tough, just try to get her into something else that will take her mind off of the dog. Just try to be a good friend to her and listen if she needs to talk.

She basically need a friend right now, silence is the best in this situation, you dont have to say anything just being there for her will help so much, trust me

That is very sad. So let her say, "I miss Oliver." You do not have to comment, raise your eyes to heaven, or groan. Just let her express her sorrow. She will get over it in time, but right now, she is not over it...so let her grieve and be her friend.
