Just talk about casual things, classes you have together, things you/he likes... just general things, nothing tooo personal.
I usually start with "hey", lol. then probably a little joke or something, but I'm a jokester. You might wanna ask about homework... But this is assuming you're still in school... Maybe about a show you watch, oh, and compliments ALWAYS work!

Start with something you both have in common. You met somewhere. At school? Could you study with him and help him with his homework? Think of something that you have common ground on with him. This should get it started. Hope that this helps. Good luck.

yuh should just start by asking how their life is and how they're doing. but the main point is asking who they like. it would b ezier if yuh did that in person. if they smile and wont tell you, you can kind of interperate that it might b you
