a lot of ppl say it isnt right when a woman supports a man but a lot of the same ppl dont bat an eye when a man supports a woman, i realize that the latter is more traditional, but traditionaly men and women werent really seen as being equals, and nowadays they are, so how is a woman supporting a man any different from a man supporting a woman

this question isnt about myself, as i have a job, and am not currently in a relationship

It's okay for a woman to support a man in this day and age. Especially where there are kids involved.

As long as both parties are okay with it, who supports whom is nobody's business but theirs.

Yes, it is more traditional for the man to support the woman (if one if them is not going to work) and in general, men still make more money than women...

...however I have friends who are married and she supports him for the most part and few seem to bat an eye...if she's okay with it (even if i or anyone else wouldn't be) then that's what matters....

...basically since men have historically been the 'bread winners', guys who allow women to support them are seen as sponging off them...

just one of many stereotypes and double standards that exist in our world...justified or not...

i agree with your point but think it stems from that fact that when women wanted equality that is exactly what they wanted equality not a role swap. also society tend to accept a man supporting a women more as as much as society has moved on women still tend to be the primary carers for children at home. anyway all the women i know wouldn't accept a man supporting them unless there was a hood reason i.e. childcare, but nor wood they accept looking after a man for non good reason.

because thats jsut the way things are supposed to work. I suppose therse nothing wrong with a woman supporitng the man but traditionally speaking the women has the kids and takes care of them while the man earns the money to support.

also id feel like a giant douche if my woman was supporting me

Men just aren't manly if they don't work. I can't explain exactly why. Most women I know work, but usually women do the housework whether they work or not. I've never known a man who was willing to support me. But who cares what society thinks. Couples should do whatever they both want to do.

I agree with you that people consider a guy to be lazy and worthless if he is supported by a woman. I would be happy to support my man if he took care of household chores and cooking. In fact, if I marry my boyfriend and he would like this arrangement, it would make me really happy! We've discussed it and he is thinking he wouldn't mind working part time and doing more house chores if I work full time and make enough to support us.

I wish i new :/ whilst a guy has a one night stand or an informal dating he's congratulated for it yet whilst a woman does she gets referred to as a slag! comparable whilst it consists of snogging somebody once you have beer goggles in a night club. i think of it rather is something to do with intercourse is meant to be extra meaningfull to woman as we are apparently the extra ideal and extra emotional intercourse. yet i say, why can not adult men make love and girls have purely intercourse? without them being judged via their friends and soceity. I agree it rather is sexism the two way!

because people are close minded and quick to judge people because it makes them feel better about themselves.
