Birds do not "throw up" to feed thier young. They Regurgitate food for thier young. Regurgitation is the forceful expulsion of the contents of the mouth, esophagus, or crop. Therefore the food being fed to the birds young does not come from the birds stomache. The bird eats and holds it's own food in it's stomache which it digests, unlike with anorexia or bulimia where the person is starving or expelling thier stomache contents.

I have birds and have seen them do this with their younglings.
They just know instinctual what they have to do. I am sure they probably eat more and drink more so when they throw up to feed the babies there is still some left in them for their own nourishment.

It is quite an amazing thing to watch a baby bird go from an egg to a full adult bird able to feed themselves and survive.

The parent birds crop is just the shopping basket to bring home food for the babies. Mammals have breast milk a crop is almost the same sort of idea, as others have said it is not the stomach of the bird.

Birds dont have the same disgestion process humans do. When mother birds are regurgitating the food to feed their babies, it isn't the same as one would describe as "throwing up" in humans.

Anorexia is an eating disorder where people starve themselves.

Birds do not starve themselves, but rather bring food for their young, THEN find food for themselves.

Birds aren't really "throwing up" their food, they're partially digesting it and storing it in a place completely different from their stomach. They fully digest the food they eat and store other food for their young.

first thing, they don't have babies all the time so they aren't throwing up all the time
and secondly, they eat more than enough to feed their babies and their selves, when breeders are feeding babies they will eat twice their normal amount of food
