This song is the Anfield Anthem. The first time I heard it sung by 'tic fans was at the testimonial between Liverpool and celtic for the Kop disaster. Great atmosphere the whole stadium singing as one with all the scarves raised above heads. I think it was gifted to the celtic fans then.
You'll Never Walk Alone- Liverpools' song.
It's A Grand Old Team- Celtics' song.

The song was from Carsouel in 1945 musical Carousel, Celtic Fans song it in the 50's and then like many greats it all but disapperaed, Gerry and The Packers a pop combo from Liverpool then relaesaed it and it reached No1 in 1963, Liverpool Fams began to sing it after that. Celtic then readopted the song they sang first as their own. Who would have belived a scouser would steal something?

Liverpool & Celtic sing the same songs not just you`ll never walk alone. The fields of `wherever`, put in where depending on who you support. On a serious note there was a concerted effort in the 40s & 50s to link Liverpool (protestent) and Celtic (catholic) and Everton (catholic) and Rangers (protestent) to lessen the religion tension from the Irish connection in both citys. Worked in Liverpool but not in Glasgow
