This is not an HD compatible TV, but an old fashioned flat screen with ColorStream. I had never used the component inputs in the back. However, in my first attempt, the red component input broke off...meaning the metal piece came out with the cable. The metal piece and color ring are still in tact, but when I try to put it back in, I still get no picture. How would I go about repairing this type of thing on my own?

you would need to open up the tv and re-solder the connector back on. if the connector actually broke, then you'll have to de-solder the old broke piece off, get a new piece and then resolder that back on.

if this is too much, any TV repair man can do this with ease.

This would be easier to answer if I could see your TV, but I'll try anyway. Remove the back and see how the other two inputs (blue and green) are attached and then do the same with the red one. You'll probably need a soldering iron. I hope this helps.

The double image is particularly in basic terms led to via one factor: conflicts between interlaced reflects and present day video indicators. (or vice versa) My wager is that your sharp is one among those uncommon accepted def CRT reflects that has factor video inputs, yet does not help present day test video. Set your XBOX to 480i and you're able to desire to be superb.
