I'm looking to spend under 200.00. Anyone with any experience with these, please let me know which gives you the best "near" or "close to" HD quality you can get. Thanks.

The best converter is HDMI, it has clear band audio and video all in one cable and is used by most HDTV Companies

have a look at lg's DVX 9900H it is an upscaler DVD player with HDMI and COMPONENT outputs-it should do you fine-retails at about £70 ($150) samsungs model (who's model number escapes me) comes with a HDMI lead (in some stores) for around £80 ($160). both produce near high definition images (though not quite-only a true high def source can produce true high definition images).
