A sales rep asked me out. She is attractive but I could not stand the way she talked. A college educated woman kept saying "like" and "totally" every other word. How would the bedroom be? "Like harder Benny!" "OMG I am totally about to cu...!" Is it shallow to not date a woman because of the way she talks or do I need to be less picky?

Yes and No. Yes its shallow, because maybe she was just nervous when she was asking you out. You know most women don't do that very often, so when she was asking you out she probably reverted back to how she sounded in high school or something. Also you could have been a bit closed off and you didn't express in anyway that you were open to her asking you out. So that causes more nervousness in some women. Now for the no part of it, I think if a person that is a sales rep and has had a college education, they should be capable of delivering a decent proposal to ask anyone out. I mean they have had the training to be able to talk to clients and different people like that, so I don't see why she couldn't used those same skills to ask you out properly. But just for the record that was funny as hell, "Like harder Benny!" Totally classic, dude.

You like what you like and there is nothing wrong with that. Give her a shot she may be speaking that way because she knows that some men are intimidated by a beautiful woman who is also intelligent and may feel the need to dummy down. Find out if that is really the way she is or if it's just an act and if in fact she really talks that way and it annoys you then there is no reason to date her if it's not what you like! You are the only one that would have to listen to it on a daily basis and if it's to much to handle then why subject yourself to it!

I talk like that all the time and im not shallow. Some pleople use filler words while their growing up and it becomes a habbit. i know people who use the words "and stuff" as fillers for conversations when theres a pause. and its unlikely shed use those words in bed, its like a habbit and maybe you could overlook it because its not the worst thing a person could have wrong with them.

No, it's not shallow. If this person bothers you in speaking, how could you enjoy a romantic dinner? What if you ran into a friend or worse a co-worker and you are with this chic who is 'like', OMG,totally!--Don't settle if you know it bothers you pick another date or chose a date in which she would not speak (movies, opera, etc).

No that is not shallow. You dont like it and that is your preference. Just like if you didnt care for the way she dresses or her outlook on life. It doesnt go w/you so why try to make it work. Differant strokes for differant folks.

No. The way she talks is a reflection of her personality. It shows character that you're questioning it. Don't date someone because of their looks, date someone because of who they are. If she drives you crazy in general conversation, imagine how it will be over the course of a date that can last several hours. ick.

remember, you are the one who will be stuck with her should you date further. no it's not shallow. people get turned down for all reasons. and if you date her, why date someone you wanna change?? then it's not the same, find someone who isn't from a valley. it's how YOU feel about someone and their habits. why date someone who annoys you...like omigod.

NO its not shallow at all!! Obviously her charisma is low, and that to many people can be turn off! You dont like her, you dont like her, thats the end of that chapter.

I guess if this language turns you off then chances are youre gonna be turned off in the sack too,in the the way you would be turned off if a chick called you Bill and your name is Joe.

First of all your immediate thought is when you can go to bed with her. I find THAT to be shallow and juvenile. Whatever happened to just getting to meet someone new and interesting?
