I too would pick Colombia. It isthe best kept secret in South America, and most people shudder at the thought of going there due to only hearing about kidnappings etc. My brother lived there for 5 years, and I spent many months over there, an discovered that it truely is wonderful. The most ecologically diverse country in south america, with both Caribbean and Pacific coasts. Mountains, deserts, jungle and rainforests, some of the most beautiful scenery and surroundings. The people are really friendly, and welcoming, and not once in my whole time there did I feel threatened or in danger.
The most amazing place to be there, however, must be Cartagena - on the Caribbean coast, alive with colour and steeped in history - it's the only city with it's entire colonial city wall in the entire continent. - great food, great architecture, great weather. It's a real gem, and you haven't lived until you've been there!

I would pick Colombia because that country is well on it's way to economic recovery! Things are growing so fast there and getting better and safer all the time. I would pic the city of Medellin to live in because the temperature there is around 25 to 27 degrees C. all year round and I am sick of living in a place where you are lucky if you get 3 months of somewhat warm weather! Imagine being able to garden all year round, that would be so wonderful. That would me where I would live! I am going on vacation there for 2 weeks in December so I guess I will get a ture taste of it and maybe I won't come back! LOL Joking of course I will come back I have family and responsibilities here to look after. *besos* JAC< in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada

hi, i have been to Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Bolivia and Peru.... to live and to work Chile has the highest rate(financially) and easiest access to the others as you see on the map.. Argentina is the most developed one but the economy has been down for last 5-6 years i think.. but it has the best facilities and may be the safetiest one. but Chile is safe enough(depends where you are)
