Take her to your local animal shelter. Do Not take her to a No-Kill Shelter, First, There is No such Thing is a No-Kill Shelter, It just means Nobody on their Staff is Certified To Euthanize. They have to send their animals Out to be put down.No cat or Dog deserves to live in a cage day after day in a shelter enviroment. I work in a low kill Shelter but Luckily we arent county run and can maKE OUR own RULES..we Have HUGE runs and Large out door Pens that the Dogs can be turned out in..The Cats are Checked out, Given Shots, Wormed , Ect..Then let out of cages into two Huge rooms complete with a screened in porch that they can go out into via an open window. Most Shelters dont have this.Even then Many animals get stressed and we put them down. There are worse things than Death if done in a Humane fashion.

Well you can post flyers talk to people and find a home for the kitty instead of just giving it away to somwhere that it will not be likely to survive from. I dont exaclty want my cat but have to take her back because I would rather have her and train her around my new baby then have her put down because I took her in the first place three years ago,... or if worse comes to worse ditch her off at a farm where other cats live.

WHY don't you want her anymore? Does she have a behavioral problem?...because if so, with a little dedication, it could probably be corrected. Cats aren't toys to be abandoned after you get tired of them, you know. I really hope that should you definitely decide not to keep her, you never EVER get another pet.
That being said, ask your local PetSmart for the phone number of a no-kill independent rescue group that might take her. Adult animals are not that likely to be adopted at pounds and Humane Societies (except the no-kill ones) and she may well end up being euthanized if you take her there.
However, that's preferable to just "turning her loose" and hoping for the best.
I really hope you reconsider.

I live in a senior high rise. I know several people who have picked their cats out by photos being placed on our information boards "Free to a good Home" I fell in love with my sweet little Mia's picture an she is even more that the information said. Seniors make good parents to cats and little dogs most senior apt.s wont allow large dogs. Please try a Senior apt complex.Call first and talk to the manager to see if you can inter and place the add.

One would want to ask why you don't want the cat any more, and why you got the cat in the first place? Pets aren't disposable, you know. I just ask that you don't do anything mean to her. I feel terrible for answering your other question, but truth be told, there are some cats that live forever on cheap crappy diets. Please don't get any more pets, either. Ever.

Call vets around your area and see if they know who to take her to. Also call animal shelters for ideas and put up an adoption ad on petfinders.com.
I know there are a lot of different reasons to part with a beloved pet, so people shouldn't judge you for finding her a more appropriate home. And you obviously care, you're seeking advise.
Good luck.

Make up a flyer and take a really cute picture of her, and if you can't do it yourself, take it to Copy etc, Longs, Walgreen's they can incorporate it on a flyer. Then make copies and post all over town, post offices, grocery stores, community centers, school bulletin boards and place an ad in your local newspaper. A pictures sells.
If nothing comes of this then a no kill shelter.

Give her to a non-kill shelter. When they ask why you are giving her away, tell them anything but that you don't want her.
Call around first to find a shelter that is suitable. It's very sad to me that you don't want your pet anymore. Isn't there any way that you can keep her?

Do you have an animal shelter near you? They might be able to take the cat and hopefully someone will adopt it.
Are you sure you don't want the cat? They're awfully good friends.

were you even completly sure you wanted the cat when you got her? and you should have thought about how you would probably need to keep her until her death. well make sure none of your relatives or friends want her and tell them if they dont shes going to a shelter and if they still dont want her then give her away to a no kill shelter.
