DO NOT PUT ICE ON A BURN. Do not put anything on a burn. You should run cold water over the burn for 20 minutes if the skin is not broken, cover it loosely with a sterile bandage and seek medical attention. You probably should not seek medical advice on here because a lot of people do not know what they are talking about.

Call or take him to the vet. If you have some aloe, you could put it on the foot to help the burn. The vet can tell you how to get the oil off of his feathers. How did your parrot manage to fly into boiling water anyway??

Don't do anything but take your parrot to the vet. A burn is very painful & can get infected easily.

Get your butt to the vet NOW. They're probably closed, so call and find out who the emergency on call vet is. What kind of parrot do you have?

In the meantime put some vaseline on the burn and try to get him to allow you to put a cold washcloth on it. (NOT ICE!!!)

You can wash his underside with dawn dish detergent, but this will not take care of the burn. He needs to be taken to your vet. He is in pain, and their is nothing you can give him to relieve it. sus04mc@yahoo.com

Immediately put ice on it to stop the burning. Leave it there while you rush him to the vet. If you have an aloe plant, you can also open one of the large petals and put around the burn.
Get him to the vet.

"Trolls must be working overtime!" Sadly, they spoke to their union reps and were told they hadn't been meeting their quotas the past couple of months, so expect them to be out in force. I typically carry a Stun gun around to use on them, to try and keep em back. Oh, and funny as hell joke....

Please take your bird to the vet! As soon as you can. Burns are very painful, and can get infected very very easily. An infection in an animal such as a parrot can easily kill it and if you don't take your bird to the vet soon, the damage might be to great and you may have to get you birds foot amputated. Please, please, please take you bird to the vet right away...
