My turkey came out dry, and it rested for an hour after I took it off the grill. I wonder if the resting was part of the reason it was dry.

Only if you had overcooked it to begin with. Resting the turkey is done so the juices saturate evenly throughout the bird. It actually makes for a more moist turkey.

i always rest the turkey, but for NO longer than 20-30 minutes. resting it didnt make it dry, maybe you cooked it too long or cooked it uncovered. Also did you baste it while it was cooking? All these things help in keeping it moist

mabey u did not have enough juice in it or u did not have the turkey coverd because we left it out for 1 in a half hours and it was just fine
