I'm friends with this man that I work with. We live near each other, car pool to work and I know him very well, but we don't do anything together outside of work. He's a very shy person and doesn't talk much about "feelings". He knows how I feel about him, but during that talk, he never confirmed or denied his feelings for me. All of his actions point to the fact that he loves ME just as much as I love HIM, but how do I know that for sure? How do I get him to break and tell me how he feels? I think he's been hurt ALOT by his ex-wife and now has problems expressing his feelings. I'm afraid to try to talk to him too much about it because I'm afraid he'll pull away from me, so I have to take it slowly, one step at a time. I'm kind of at a brick wall right now and have run out of ideas. Up to this point, I've just been his friend and we've come a long way, but I'm getting to the point where I want more than just his friendship.

I think you are getting way ahead of yourself. you are talking about love, but it sounds like you have a great FRIENDSHIP. if you want to start seeing/dating him, ask him. the worse he will say is no. tell him what you just said, you want more than friendship, and would like to start a deeper relationship. if he is not interested, you can still be friends.
