Yes Hershey is a cute name but I wouldn't say it's a good name. I've heard so many of those dogs with that name that it almost a joke with the dog people. I would suggest a name like Toblerone, Lindt, Swiss, or even Cadbury. These suggest chocolate without the common denominator amongst the Labs.
Hope you reconsider but truthfully? The dog isn't going to give a damn! As long as you love it you can call it Dumb-effing-canine and the sweet creature will come a running at his call anyways. Dogs are the most faithful.

I have a Chocolate Lab and I also live in Pennsylvania. Everyone here names them Hershey! I named my dog Bosco, it was Hersey's only competitor here forty years ago. I can always tell a person is over forty when I tell them his name, by their reply. If they go Oh, I remember that stuff. Do they still make it? Or That's a different name what does that mean?

It's cute, but not very original. Tons of people give their chocolate labs names like Hershey, Nestle, Cocoa, Brownie, Fudge, etc.
