Female dogs do smell when they're in heat - to other dogs! That's why most dog shows/events will not let females in heat even be on the grounds of a show, as it's too much for the other dogs.
I'd try the bath but remember that a bad smell can also indicate medical problems (see below)

She may need something as simple as a Bath! Take her to a "groomer" and have her washed professionally, its only about 40 bucks, worth it, as they clean everything, cut the nails, check the teeth, and your pet will come home smelling like a Rose! - if that's not the problem, a good groomer will tell you, and you may need to take your pet to the Vet, it could be what your feeding the dog. Everything that goes in the mouth, comes out, and through the skin or the dog, and his coat. Try the bath first.

you can eliminate much of what you ask.
pregnancy can be eliminated if she has not been in contact with a male dog?
has she had a first season yet? dogs vary depending on breed and size. a discharge containing blood is usually seen when they are in season lasting up to 3 weeks. a smell is given off by this discharge, they usually show tarty behavior and have a tendency of running off. male dogs will also be attracted to her.
at 10 months old a season is probably the cause.
if neither are suspected i would get her checked for a uterine infection such as a pyometra. (pus filled uterus) usually seen in older entire bitches but a possibility if she is particularly smelly or a unwell.
you may also see symptoms such as a smelly viscus discharge, high temp, excessive drinking, enlarged abdomen if such a prob if suspected.
always ring a veterinary surgeon for advise if you are worried, best to get her checked for your peace of mind as well.

It ability it really is time for a visit to the vets workplace! Make a spay appt, and it is going to all bypass away! for about 3 weeks, you'll favor b*tches britches, or doggie diapers. those are very severe priced. also favor fairly some carpet cleanser, and a reliable large carpet shampooer to clean up the mess that drips each and every the position! and she or he's giving off crucial heady scent that un-neutered men can scent for MILES round, and could bounce fences to mate such as her. (Spaying is more less costly.) upload--- Your b*tch needs to be 2 years previous, and performance health clearances FIRST. PLEASE do no longer breed till you've a breeders license!!! it really is amazingly irresponsible to carry extra pups right into a international the position tens of millions of dogs die because there are not any homes for them!!! i comprehend *this gained't take position on your pups* because you'd be abode, and performance money for the vet, yet heavily. in case you'll ask Yahoos about how your b*tch is going into warmth, you're literally not responsible adequate to reproduce.... perfect?!

the answer is NO. i have a dog. when she was in heat, she did NOT smell funny. it probably is just this odor. you need to give her a bath or put some clean fresh conditioner on her fur. that will probably help. oh yeah and she is way to young to be pregnant.
p.s. it's happy friday today.
