I believe so, and my Native American background tells me that all living things have spirits (tho I don't think that is the same a soul, plants have spirits, animals have souls). Do you have a cat or dog? or even bird? So what if they don't speak English, they do communicate quite clearly. They also mourn for losses and rejoice at happy occasions. They clearly have emotions so how could anyone say they don't have feelings? But occasionally I wonder about house flies & slugs!

You are asking two entirely different things. Whether or not animals have souls has very little to do with whether they have feelings.
With regards to souls, there is no definite proof that humans have a soul, let alone other animals.
Animals do indeed have "feelings" or emotions - or at least some animals do, primarily some mammals, although we should be very cautious about projecting human emotions and behaviour onto animals.
Elephants have been observed visiting the corpse of a dead family member and displaying what has been interpreted as "mourning behaviour". Dogs sometimes pine when their owners die. Many species exhibit pair-bonding which we would interpret as an emotional attachment but again we must be careful here because pair bonding could easily be "hard wired" into a species by millions of years of evolution because a bonded pair would stand a better chance of sucessfully raising offspring.

Animals have souls, because souls are the essence of life. But these souls are less developed then human souls. The higher their intelligence, the more developed their soul. However, this is not a justification for PETA, as animals have killed animals since before humanity.

All living creatures have souls. The Creator did not give souls only to people, but all of his creations.
Some animals are smarter than others and do have "feelings" where others do not. Chickens for instance do not have enough nerve endings or brain cells to experience pain.

I think that if people have souls (doubtful) then so do animals - we are so anthropocentric, what makes us think we're better than them? Pure selfishness. I don't think I'm better than a human less clever than me so then why would I be better than a chimp or a pig or something? I'm not an intellectual snob, and animals clearly feel pain and pleasure.

Animals have spirits but not souls. If they had souls, they would have to be saved and accept Jesus just like humans. There spirit returns to the earth when they die, according to Ecclesiastes.

Animals have brains, but that doesn't mean they have souls. Only humans have souls!
