if you only got the puppy a few days ago, the transition could put him off his food. or a sudden change in diet could be a cause (do not do this as can cause an upset stomach etc)
this could also be worms (endoparasites) causing the firm, pot bellies appearance and feel.
has the puppy been wormed?
puppies should be wormed every month until 6 months old than around two/three times a year using a veterinary licensed anthelmintic (wormer).
if he has stopped eating the worms could be causing this. is he vomiting or have diarrhoea? if so worms may be present.
always ring your veterinary centre for further advice if worried and if the anorexia continues. he may have a huge overwhelming amount of worms that can be life threatening!
if hes not defecating this can be a worry as well - seek assistance asap!

Puppy - Vet - Now. Don't delay, 2 or 3 days is a long time for a pup to go without eating.

If his stomach is enlarged, and round.....then a vet should check him out for worms. Also, sometimes the first few days in a new home, puppies will not eat. It's because they are too scared and have to get adjusted to the enviroment first.

Hi,
Take it to a vet. Three days is about the length of time a puppy can do without food.
Get moving

Sounds like he has worms, very common but seeing as he's a puppy you should bring him to the vet before you treat him. And just for the future all dogs should be wormed and given flea powder at least every 6 months.

Worms..sometimes they are so full of round worms that they cannot go "potty" all clogged up.
There are different kinds of worms.. usually they are wormed for round worms and tape worms.. you can buy the medication at the vet and dose the puppy yourself..
If puppy doesn't get better withing 24 hours of that.. to the vet please.

Better check him for worms and PDQ! Swollen belly loss of appetite all symptoms of worms. Vets know a whole lot more though.

It's probably worms, but dogs can also get a twisted or blocked intestine. Anytime an animal stops eating, it needs immediate veterinary care!

Fenlandfowl is right; your pup could have eaten something he shouldn't which is blocking his digestive system.
Thats too long for a pup to not feed and yet still have a bloated stomach; don't listen to any advice other than go straight to the vets.
