stay in bed, drink a lot of fluids, eat chicken soup and broth, stay warm.
My method, haven't seen a doctor in 11 years. I am fine. Never took a flu shot in the past 8 years. I am still alive. { 69 yrs, and doing well}.

2 tablets of Vitamin C, 3x a day for 3 days. I promise, this is the cure for the common cold. I do it all the time. Promise. Also, to speed things along, drink a lot of water, and eat fruits and veggies. Green tea is also good, it works as an antioxidant. Of course chicken soup is also good.

A cold will run it's course no matter what you take. I avoid all medications since it doesn't work. Perhaps Aspirin is the only thing I take if I am in pain.
Rest, liquids, chicken soup is good, as many said.

one thing always worked for me- a nice dish of hot curry. I personally prefer chicken madras- but from a real indian restaurant. This is the hottest dish they have SFAIK. Cleans the sinuses very nicely- provided you can swallow the stuff, because it is really really hot.
has side effects a day later too, I'm afraid- since not all the spices will be digested.not pleasant but bearable.

especially, the answer that i come across maximum powerful to that query is a lot extra straight forward than everyone looks making it, no offense, yet what I do (the chilly sore should be lengthy gone interior 0.5 an hour) is get a cotton change, drench it in water, then upload as a lot salt as attainable till the water no longer absorbs it, then (and that's painful) rub it violently (do not bypass nuts) hostile to the chilly sore.

Drink a lot of water and fruit juices. Use a humidifier. Exercise, it helps you sweat out the bad germs. Add zinc, B vitamins and vitamin c to your diet. Google foods that are high in these nutrients.
