Yes, but it wasn't incest then. It was necessary to propagate the species. there was no danger of any deceases, genetic deformities or blood problems, etc. because the species was new, pure & strong.

But Eve was made from Adam's rib (where she got the extra X chromosome doesn't seem to make it into Genesis) - so in effect even Cain and Abel were the products of an incestuous relationship. No wonder one turned into a crazed killer!

As everyone has pronounced, Adam and Eve had countless children. After Abel's demise Seth grew to develop into the single by whom God's promised seed would arrive to redeem sinful guy. (Gen 3:15, Gen 4:25) it truly is why his call is pronounced even as his different brothers were no longer. sure, the brothers and sisters married and had children. Gen 4:17 mentions Cain's spouse and son. by immediately's established it truly is gross, yet to boot risky because of inherited ailments and so on. that get prolonged if one reproduces with an intensive relative. we favor to save in ideas, although, that Adam and Eve were ideal at their creation. At their sin they began to become worse, yet no longer something like us immediately. Adam became waiting to stay to 930 years. the hazards inherent in a brother and sister marrying and having children were no longer contemporary decrease back then. The very next era would have cousins to choose from and in many years it wasn't an situation in any respect. Later, even as the regulation became given to Moses for the Jewish usa all issues were ruled to guy's earnings; marriage, health, inheritance, worship... there became extra to it than the ten commandments. there have been 613 guidelines that set the rustic of Israel with the exception of the pagan countries surrounding them and secure the lineage that carry about the messiah. edit: BTW, Eric Von Anderseck made that stuff up. None of it truly is contained in the Bible. What a stupid distraction for those truly searching for actuality.

Interesting thought, though.

But Eve had a sister... Lillith... and where did she come from if Eve had no 'mother'?? Adam's OTHER other rib?

It is all just a fantasy anyway... an attempt to explain the origin of the species to a bunch of people several thousand years ago. Do not take it litterally, please.

Of course, I do get that your question is a joke (and quite a fun one, too) , but it is the kind of joke that will bring all of the 'fishes' out in great number.....

Cain and Abel were only their first children. They had many sons and daughters. The Bible says that Adam lived 950 years, so they had time for plenty of kids. Of course their sons and daughters had to marry each other since their were no other options. Because they were the first humans, though, there were no problems with genetic mutations--there were no inheritted medical defects that could be passed on yet. There were also no social taboos about marriage to siblings yet, since they were the creating the first societies. Those taboos have gotten much more severe and specific in modern western societies, where in other cultures, marrying a first cousin is still considered perfectly normal.

not really! when cain slew able it is written that he took a wife out of Nod. if you read the book of urantia, you will KNOW that there were 3 other races when adam and eve came to this planet as emmisaries of God. or is that ambassadors?
When Eve was beguiled to commit adultery with satan she conceived Cain. Allegedly. So Adam went and pro created with a woman of the "brown" race.
but this all seemingly contradicts the genesis tradition. !!!

however what if the book of genesis story is a Censored and Edited version of the whole story. Some christians come to the conclusion that eating the forbidden fruit is the same thing as fornication. I never believed it though.
The fact is that there had to be others. men that were not children of God. The prison planet theory is another issue to consider. That God sent people of criminal backgrounds to this planet to mine Gold as punishment. Zacharia Sitchen also defines that Other gods did these things.

when i was young I heard the answer that DNA was much stronger and more perfect in those days, so Incest was not a problem to be considered. But like everything else dealing with the "imperfect" scriptures beliefs and traditions and interpretations of varying degrees have always existed and in many times of history have resulted in wars and contention

Genesis 5 v4. Adam and Eve had more children, sons and daughters. God made adam and Eve in such a way that the problems now associated with incest did not exist. Also, incest was not illegal in those days. it's hard to see as right in our eyes, but incest has been illegal for countless generations and we are imperfect which would increase problems associated with incest.

Just because Adam and Eve were the FIRST humans, doesn't mean they were the ONLY humans at that time - God created more after them, so therefore we aren't the product of an incestuous relationship.

There is nothing in the Bible which would stop God from creating other people to populate the earth. As well, Adam and Eve were genetically neutral- each one of their sons and daughters would have a different genetic mix to the other, and because of the passing on of pure genes, there would be no risk of genetic abnormality.

Cain killed Able and was condemned to go to THE TRIBES IN THE EAST. Thus more than 4 individuals existed at this time. However, the bible utilizes stories so the literal version may not be relied upon due to translational errors that may have occured over time.

With sisters.
The whole idea of "incest" came later.
With sin, death and sickness and deformities came into the world. So being overly inbred became more and more of a problem as time went on.
Because of the tremendous ages of people at that time, there might not have been the social closeness between brothers and sisters we now have. (When there is a 100 yr age difference between 2 people, one of them has set up a life elsewhere before the other was born. If the older one remained youthful, then later on they could have met on an equal basis ... I'm just speculating here.)
