Home ec (cooking), languages, accounting (business anything), math comes in handy for taxes and portion control. Marketing if you have that. Computing and typing. I hope they require 4 years of English and writing (not because this question was bad) because when you go to write a paper you do research on chefs and cuisines and food history.

By the time you're in college, there are food science and nutrition classes, which require chemistry and organic chem. Both of those are actually fascinating.

Good luck, it's hard work to be a chef, but rewarding.

Each school is different. You should check with your Guidance counselors for sure. As a suggestion based on when I went to high school. You would take Cooking 1 & 2. They gave you the basics. We also had a co-op cooking department. There you worked in a resturant style kitchen where you learned techniques and acually cooked for people. A lot of there food went to soup kitchens. Hope this gives you an idea.

English is one. It's SPECIFIC. It's STUDYING.

I studied at the Florida Culinary Institute. Or transfer to a high school that has a culinary program.
