I am extremly shy, I cant even look at girl in the eye for more than 2 seconds (as explained in other threads). Im dying to ask this girl out, and the most comfortable way for me is either conversation or by text. As I cant go over and start a converstation (shyness), text seems a better option, but how could I ask her nicely for her number?

Start by introducing yourself (if she doesn't already know your name); then ask about her... such as some hobbies or activities that you already know she is interested in.
Then just talk to her for a while; imagine that you've already known her for a couple months and try to feel as relaxed as you will then.
Eventually, you will have the opportunity to tell her that you find her both interesting and attractive, and would like to get to know her better. Then offer her YOUR number.

Do you have anything in common with this girl? Like the same music, sports, cars, in any classes together at school. Find a common interest. Begin talking about anything and evolve to that a subject matter she enjoys. Then when you are leaving mention that you'd like to call her sometime. She might be as shy as you are so don't be too hard on yourself. I too, was very shy as a teenager. My son also was. I used to take him to the mall and make him look at salespeople in the eye and talk to them just to get him over that shy stuff. It worked because he knew he might never even see these people again. It built his confidence up. You sound like a very nice person and caring. What girl wouldn't love to be your g/f! Good luck. Oh, and smile- it'll help ease tension, too.

Do NOT text her. Maybe invite her to a movie with a bunch of other people so you can break the ice. Then pay attention to her to show her you are interested. Then at the end. Ask her if she would like to get together sometime. Just do it! You can't hide forever.

If your shy then your probably not a rude guy, so just write her a short note asking if she may want to get to know you and if she does she can give u her number. If she doesn't give u the number then leave well enough alone.

Open up to her and tell her that you're kind of shy. If she is a true and genuine person, she will understand. Then just say that you would like to hang out and ask for her number.

If you can ask her for her number then you can ask her out on a date. Just find a time when she's alone and ask her out.
Breath deeply before you approach her. Keep your chin up and always look her in the eyes. Don't look away.

just go over and ask her, the text thing kinda says that u are shy and lack confidence ( which by the way girls like) so just go ask her, what is the worst that can happen?

most people are shy becoz they are afraid to be rejected
so you have 2 options
1/ go ahead and talk to her . just day hi how u doing and if she is into you she will do the talking...in this case your chances are 50/50
2/ don't talk to her and your chances to go out with her are....0
the choiceis yours
good luck
