Well, it's good to know you don't find yourself ugly. I mean if you did, that would be the first place to start. I think everyone feels insecure at times and that they are competing with people as well. When I start to feel like this, I try to devert my attention to a movie, a book, or since I am in college, try to focus that energy/attention to my studies. Turn it into something positive. It's alot easier said than done. Or, try to figure out why you feel insecure and go from there. If it's because you are single, or don't like the relationship you are in, try to change the situation. When I was in high school, I used to be insecure, and I realized it was because I didn't like the people I was hanging out with. We were totally different people and I always felt uncomfortable around them. When I realized this, I became friends with the people I wanted to become friends with in the beginning, and my insecurity left. If you look and still can't figure out why you are insecure, try asking your best friends or someone who knows you well. They may be able to help. Good luck!!!

My guess on the little info I have is that you feel most often when you don't obtain the result or pleasure you want out of something. It is that drive to excell at all things therefore something must be wrong with me anytime I am not successful. Later you may find thru age that you obtained the best result possible but right now it does appear that way. But this inner drive to want perfection, to do more, to be better..etc., will help achieve great things in your lifetime....if you don't let it drive you crazy first. It is easy not to fail if you don't try to begin with. My answer may be wrong but I know that I once felt insecure anytime I did not get the result I expected.

Winning is not everything but wanting to is. If you are competing for everything its a good sign, just dont get bogged down if you dont come out on the top. Insecurity is all in the mind. Stop being around people who put you down and make friends who encourage you.

competing against who and for what? life can be fast paced, just learn to Sim it down a noch. You sound like a ambitious person that has accomplished a lot so far. I am also ambitious and I find myself competing for everything. I have learnt to handle my life like an emergency situation. I take care of my bigger issues first then move on to my smaller ones. You will notice your insecurities will simmer down, they will still be there but they won't worry you as much.

I know what you mean, but in order to resolve this issue you must figure out what you don't like about yourself and how you came up with that. Probably someone said or did something to make you feel like that. I have learned that what other people think of me is none ofmy business. Works really well to just be yourself and if someone has a problem, let it be their problem.
