I used to work at a grocery store and they said it's their deadest day. I need groceries so bad, but don't want to fight any crowds. What are they like in your town? We have about 5 or 6 grocery stores to choose from.

I am in a little city about 11 miles from Sacramento, California....I have worked in a grocery store for the last 10 years. I would have to say that this is the best day to go grocery shopping....it is always dead. Most people have enough food left over from Thanksgiving, that they either don't need anything or don't have enough room in the fridge. Most people only come in for milk and sometimes bread. We have about 7 major grocery chain stores in about a 10 mile radius...most of them are dead today.

I went this morning right after they opened. I figured everyone else would be at Target or Wal-Mart. They were. But the store was bustling with the stockers restocking the shelves, and they were out of so much stuff! I was the only shopper in the store. But navigating around all the pallets and boxes was a bit tricky, but they were nice about it.
