It's very comforting to say that "God loves us all so much that He will save us all"; or "He hates the sin, but loves the sinner"; or "God is love, and will not send anyone to hell."
I must admit, it is nice to think of God's love being so infinitely great that all will ultimately be saved. Hell is a terrible place and I don't want anyone to go there. But it does not matter what I think. It matters what the Bible says.
God is love (1 John 4:8), but God also punishes the sinner and hates all who do iniquity. God is not one sided. He is not simply an infinitely loving God. He is also infinitely just. He must deal with sin. He must punish the sinner.
Well? Does God hate anyone? The answer is yes.
Psalm 5:5, "The boastful shall not stand before Thine eyes; Thou dost hate all who do iniquity,
Psalm 11:5, "The Lord tests the righteous and the wicked, and the one who loves violence His soul hates."
Lev. 20:23, "Moreover, you shall not follow the customs of the nation which I shall drive out before you, for they did all these things, and therefore I have abhorred them."
Prov. 6:16-19, "There are six things which the Lord hates, yes, seven which are an abomination to Him: 17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that devises wicked plans, feet that run rapidly to evil,
A false witness who utters lies, and one who spreads strife among brothers.
Hosea 9:15, "All their evil is at Gilgal; indeed, I came to hate them there! Because of the wickedness of their deeds I will drive them out of My house! I will love them no more; All their princes are rebels."
Are these verses hard to read?
Do they make you feel uncomfortable?
Does this sound harsh?
Maybe you don't think your sins are that big a deal. God does.
God hates sin. But, He does not punish sin. He punishes the sinner. Sin cannot be tied up and thrown into a fire. It cannot be put in a box or glued to a stick.
It is rebellion. It is rebellion in the heart. It is breaking God's Law.
So what standard will God use to decide our guilt or innocence?
The 10 Commandments. The bible says that they are like a mirror to show us what we are...horrible sinners to the core.
When we see the standard; "Don't lie, Don't steal, Honor your parents, Love God with all of your heart soul mind and strength".

God doesn't hate the fornicator but he hates what they are doing. If the person continued to do it then he would not have a good standiong in front of God but if the person were to turn back from what they were doing then he would be able to ask for repentance. They would have to be sincere in their heart though and not just doing it so THEY can feel better.
God is very precise with what he is asking from His followers. His Son Jesus Christ said at Matthew 5:28 "But I say to YOU that everyone that keeps on looking at a woman so as to have a passion for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
Fornication is not just an act but an attitude and a heart condition that humans need to want to change with God's help.
He hates what we do not us.

just so you know, i am a highly fundamentalist Christian.
God does NOT hate fornicators. He DOES HATE fornication. God loves everyone, He just hates their sin. God is willing to forgive anyone. John 3:16 "For God so loved the WORLD..." not just SOME of the world but the whole WORLD. Sin is the same in God's eyes. Sin is sin. period. and as Romans 3:22-23 says "...There is no difference, for ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" but thank God it doesn't end there. God promises to forgive anyone who repents (confesses their sin and are sorry for it). as the John 3:16 states, " For God so loved the world that He gave His one beloved son, that WHOEVER believes in Him will not perish [go to Hell] but will have EVERLASTING LIFE [in Heaven].
Sex outside of marriage is sin. And sin is breaking a law. In Romans 3:20 , it says " Therefore NO ONE will be declared righteous in sight of observing the law; rather, throught the law we become conscious of sin." this is how we know we need God's grace! even though fornication is a sin, God will still forgive the sinner.

That partially depends on what you mean by moderate. But fundamentalist Christians have a habit of reading things in the Bible that are not actually there because they are taking some phrases too literally--for example, those Young Earth Creationists that insist that the Bible says that God made the universe in 6 24-hour periods and that the universe is only 6,000 years old. In fact, the Bible comes nowhere close to saying that one (in fact, a more careful reading of the Bible shows that God's seventh day rest is still going on right now, so that seventh "day" has already covered more than 6,000 years of human history and is still going). But because they insist on reading it that way, those who are not Christian but are curious and want to learn more are told by these fundamentalist Christians a falsehood that often discourages sane people from giving the Bible a legitimate chance. You and others may still decide it is wrong even after giving it a legitimate chance; but for you to dismiss it because a fundamentalist Christian did not take the time to actually read the Bible properly and told you that it says something it did not say...that would be wrong of them and a disservice to you. Fundamentalist Christians do have a strong faith, but it is a blind faith. It must be, that is the only way to cover over the contradictions that arise from their misreadings of the Bible. And the Bible specifically says not to believe blindly, but based on evidence.

God doesn't "hate" anyone, but yes, he is offended by the act of fornication. Procreation/sex is the most God-like and powerful act mankind can engage in. The ability to create life should not be taken lightly. Therefore, when God sees mankind engage in, and throw around, sex so casually it is a mockery to Him.

No God does not hate fornicators. God is a God of love who is forgiving of sins. So if you slip up and are sincerly sorry for your mistakes God will wipe the slate clean and it will be like it never happened, but you have to be sincerly sorry you cant say I'm sorry then run out and do it again.
God loves you, but he doesn't always like what your doing.

God does not Hate.
He guides. He loves.
Sex outside of marriage?
Some laws were written by God and some by the church to control you. You have to have faith, that you can tell the difference.
Pray about your sins. God has the answers.

sorry I am not fundamentalist, but I have to add another part to this question... what about Mary Magdalene, or rahab.. ??? They were prostitutes, so OBVIOUSLY fornicators.. and one is known to be one of Jesus' closest friends and the other is in Romans in the well known "book of heroes"...
EDIT: sorry, haven't cracked the bible in a while, but could remember she was in there... thanks for the reminder

He hates the ACT of fornication, as He does ALL sin.....however, you CAN be forgiven, you know! That's why Jesus died, was buried and rose again! Bring your sins to Him....He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins!
EDIT:
JUST ME- that's in the book of Hebrews, Chapter 11

May "reasonably" fundamentalist Christians get involved in this question, or are you just playing some kind of "exclusivity" rant, here?
