Is it possible that Mary Magdelene had Jesus' baby? Could there be decendents of him today? Also, was there no cup called the holy grail? If there is, then why isn't it in the painting of the last supper? And aren't there any documents that are 2,000 years old that say anything about Jesus? And does anybody know anything about the unexcavated vault beneath the Rosslyn Chapel?
(It's okay if you can't answer all of these questions...anything you know would be great)

I know that this book isn't completely true but obviously some of it is because it talks about Jesus and Davinci and the louvre...so I'm just trying to seperate the facts from the fiction.

The general theory can be true, why not. although the story itself is fiction it was based from theories that some experts are finding.

In the time of Jesus men and women are expected to wed and are often times selected together, like Mary and Joseph were.

Jesus being over 30 and still a Jew would have been married by then as is the custom. And this is just one of many arguments. if they were married it' possible there are descendants running around. Don't forget there are many other biblical books that were excluded from the bible, one of them vary well could have said Christ was married.

As far as the Rosslyn chapel. they won't even let anybody use modern technology to see what's in there. let alone dig it up. anything could be there.

I know that if Jesus was married it wouldn't affect my faith at all.

The book, itself is mostly fiction. But Jesus being a Jew would have to have taken a wife to become a Rabbi (if I am not mistaken). There have been so many "books" of the Bible removed and revised countless times it is impossible to take things literally. I am gonna get another thumbs down (don't care, doesn't matter) But it is my opinion that because of all of the alterations the Bible itself is in part a work of fiction. It is a pretty well known fact that the "editors" of the Bible were very anti-female. I believe that men were not the only ones who wrote it. The "cup" referred to as the Holy Grail was a vessel that held the blood of Jesus, so would not a woman pregnant with his child qualify? I know I did not really answer any of your questions, but there are some things that we will never have absolute physical proof of.

As faith is a ability of controlling and standardising peoples' non secular ideals (and this occurs with ALL religions), i think of that the DaVinci Code basically makes us think of roughly what the conventional non secular individual is afraid to think approximately: the fact that there could be greater available than what we are advised. Which, in a manner, is sensible - in case you like a gadget of concept to be widely subtle, you may save it easy, ordinary to digest and dogmatic, so questions may be suppressed. The DaVinci Code is an outstanding secret e book, written in an addictive way, and handling matters that have an effect on human beings: non secular concept, conspiracy concept and hidden truths. i won't be able to make certain or deny the e book having a historic validity, and the comparable is going for non secular scriptures, as, frequently, none of them are easily historic records, yet basically hearsay, narrations propagated by be attentive to mouth and recorded in some unspecified time interior the destiny.

I think that even if Mary Magdelene had Jesus' baby, it doesnt matter. It didnt make him any less than He proclaimed to be. He was 100% God and 100% man. Men get married, and that wouldnt make him less Christ-like, but that doesnt mean his children would be gods or mini-gods, since he was also 100% man.
There are documents that the church would not let in. Some say it was because they wanted to shape the church a certain way (and even more so present Jesus in a certain way) these documents are called the gnostics (including the gospel of mary magdelene).

Those were the only questions I could answer, and they are one view in a subject which has a lot of views. Hope it helped some.

Of course it could be,after all 80% of what was written about the life of Jesus was written after his death by his followers with no actual historical verification outside the community of followers, so most of that could easily be just as fictional as any writing by any fiction author. And what would it matter if he was married and had children, neither of these acts make one a sinner. In fact wouldn't that make it more likely that he could understand what it was to be human? And some of it at least is fact, the treatment of the Knights Templar and their massacre is factual, the brutal massacres of thousands or tens of thousands, who really knows,of women by the church over the centuries for being "witches" is real. Although the modern church always wants to write that off as fanatics, but these were acts sanctioned by the church in order to keep a hold on power. And there are probably in fact most likely thousands of facts that the church has kept hidden in order to maintain control, why is it so hard to imagine one more secret.

It could be possible. Anything is possible, but well people dont want to believe that! Yes there were certain facts in the Da Vinci Code, thats what made it so good, but as it starts in the book they are all theories, and it looks like they'll remain that way!

Actually I have looked in to this. Apparently it is a bunch of historical facts twisted into a fictional story. This is done all the time, for example, Bram Strokers Dracula, this movie is based off of facts but of course is a fictional story. Fact, the legends of vampires exist, vampires them selves do not.

if you look at this novel you can see that without the `Hook`of Jesus and Mary Magdelene it is only a banal and uninteresting story, but Dan Browne certaintly is no fool and knew what would make this tripe a best seller.

no one knows...well i think God sent Jesus and another person to earth! one was to die, and cleanse their spiritual sins and the other was to create an all new clean bloodline, since the "Gentiles" kinda screwed up "God's" original bloodline. So when he sent the flood, it was to clease the earth from the gentiles "seed" but obviously they all didn't die. well i dont know, i'm just making my own assumption, but it won't eliminate it

THOSE IGNORANT CHRISTIANS THAT GIVE ME A THUMBS DOWN SHOULD REALLY BURN IN HELL...I'LL TELL IT TO YOU THE BEST WAY I CAN, YOUR RELIGION IS FAKE...i wasn't going to tell you but you threw my OPINION in the garbagee. like you are sooo certain yours is right! OMG, you pissed me off. leave my opinion alone, they are sooo ignorant gosh
