I'm 15 I weigh about 161 and I dont think I should weigh so much. And my mom rudely pointed out that I;m fat too. How do I change my metabolism to make it go faster? Because I hate the way my mom always reminds me of how fat i am. not in those precise words but she makes it abundently clear and I cant stand it It makes me just want to kill myself. Anyone have any answers to how I can change it?

All the excersise I get is Marching band after school for about 2 hours mon , tuesday thursday and like 30 min on friday because of run throughs (depending if its a saturday game or friday game). Thats only for on semester August-December. The onver the summer I dont get much excersise cause both my parents work and they are so damn protective so I cant really get around and my mom is reluctant to let me learn to drive an no gym or anything or a park is within walking distance.
I'm about 5'1-5'3 I would like to loose at least 30 pounds. I'm so desperate sometimes I just dont eat i skip breakfast mon-friday cuz its too early eating at 7am but i eat in class. sometimes on holidays i skip breakfast and lunch all together. and sometimes i skip dinner breakfast and lunch cuz im not hungry and eat the next day.. I dont know I'm just so desperate :(

I own a gym and I have to tell you that to me, fat is the new "f" word. I hate it. It is very hurtful and demeaning. Tsk Tsk Tsk on your mom for using it. You are young and maybe a little inactive with bad eating habits. That stuff is so fixable! Eating lean and clean, 5 - 6 small meals a day will begin revving yourengine. Do not skip breakfast! Avoid all whites (sugar and flour)... they go straight to your butt. This really really works. Start into a gym program (weight training burns more and for longer then just cardio). Being only 15, I promise and double extra promise that you will lose weight. When you do, do it for you and take pride in the new you and the hard work you have put into it.

Well Artemis - I really feel for you - firstly, you are only 15 years old!! Your body has gone through changes, and still is - so don't get down about it, and don't let your Mom get you down about it. The best thing to do, is to just eat healthy - lots of vegetables, fruit, lots of water - but don't get obsessive about it. If you eat too many fatty snacks and meals, cut those out and replace them with yummy healthy foods. The only way to increase your metabolism is to increase your exercise - go running in the park with your friends, or maybe go to the gym, as it's great to be around people who have the same goal. Whatever you do, don't diet, as this will only lead to a lifetime of problems. You are so young, and you shouldn't be feeling desperate about this - talk with your Mom, and tell her how her comments make you feel. Tell her you want to lose a little weight, and could she help you make a plan for a healthier lifestyle. One more thing, I don't know your height, so it may even pay speaking with a health professional before you start on any plan, as you may not even be very overweight at all. Whatever, enjoy your youth!! And tell your Mom how you feel, if you can. If you can't, try talking to a friend or maybe an aunt or other family member. Don't beat yourself up, and don't obsess about your weight!!!

Eat a light breakfast every morning.
Do 20 to 30 mins of Cardio workout daily. Treadmill. Keep you pulse around 110-120 beats per min...look online to find out how to do keep track of the pulse rate.
Stick to mostly a high protein low fat diet. With a little or no carbs. Reduce slowly your calorie count to a level where weight starts to come off.
Also add negative calorie foods for a snack, such as Apples or Celery. These foods burn more calories during the digestive process than they add to your intake.
Just some tips...

to change your matabolism, you need to start working out, and gain muscle, and lose fast, because the more muscle u have, the more metabolism, oh, and also spread out your meal times, so your eating a little bit throughout the whole day instead of having like 3 or 4 big meals, this way, youll digest your food faster. Try researching some exersize workouts, and hopefully your mom will stop bugging you about you weight

Oh the joy of having mom tell you you're fat! Welcome to MY childhood. You need to increase your activity and watch what you eat (especially after school). Cut out the regulas soda and you will drop a lot in the first year. There are some very healthy diets out there and weight watchers is a good one for young ppl to learn how to eat properly.
Good luck and remember...What your mother says/thinks of you does not mean that is the truth. It is only HER perception/problem. You can be a fabulous, attractive person on the inside and out by loving yourself, no matter the weight.

you exercise and it will increase the amount your body burns fat.
It depends on how tall you are if you are fat or not...you'd have to be over 5'7'' to not be fat at that weight...
if your 5'7'' then 120-159 is fine
if your 5'6'' then 115-154 is fine
if your 5'5'' then 111- 149 is fine
if your 5'4'' then 108-145 is fine
if your 5'3'' then 105-140 is fine
if your 5'2'' then 102-136 is fine
calculate your bmi in the link I gave below
Also the second link below is how to increase your metabolism

There are two ways to speed up the metabolism, regular exercise and amphetamines. I also know of several women who are crackheads and they are now thin as rails, but I wouldn't recommend that. Exercise. Walk, ride a bike, roller blade, swim, do something for christs sake !

Don't put so much importance on how you look. You can exercise and drink green tea to help raise your metabolism.
