One person replied that Jesus appeared to Paul and asked the question why do you murder Me! that quote was wrong. Jesus asked why doyou persecute me? One person corrected me when i said that Paul said Hate was like murder. but another confirmed the same verse i tried to quote.
Do you think There is bias in the interpretation of these verses? is the popular decision correct? How can i choose the best answer when it seems none are correct

It is true that Paul approved of the murder of Stephen in the book of Acts, if that is the event to which you refer. But Paul was not guilty of that murder. Acts 8:3 reports that Paul dealt outrageously with the Christian congregation. And Acts 9:1-2 reports that he "breathed threat and murder," asking for permission to bring Christians bound back to Jerusalem.

At 1 Timothy 1:13, Paul admits that he was a blasphemer, a persecutor, an insolent man and ignorant. But he never described himself as a murderer. Yet he always told the truth.

Paul was not guilty of murder.

In Acts 9:4 it does say Jesus says "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me" but the Bible does say that talking badly about someone is the same as murder ......so would you not say that everyone is guilty of murder???? but if you repent and accept Jesus into your life, as Saul who became Paul did, you are forgiven. And though you will still "murder" after this Jesus has already forgiven all your sins if you accept Him.

Paul WAS a murderer! He, (Saul of Tarsus), hated Christians so much that he would even chase them into other cities to try to catch and murder them. Even AFTER he got saved, the Christians were so skeptical of the sincerity of his conversion, that only ONE of them would allow him to travel with him. He, by the changes Jesus made in his life, came to be trusted and loved by all Christians because they saw that he truly HAD been saved. But make no mistake about it...he WAS a murderer!...On the road to Damascus, Jesus said, "Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?"

You can't, people do this all the time. I even had some one offer to explain some of the gospels to me, because he believed that I interpreted them wrong when asking some questions on here. The thing is, is that everything that is written in the Bible already has spin added to it by the ones who wrote it, what they say is what they mean, people need to stop adding to the spin, all it does is confuse people even more and makes them look less credible.

Look....Paul as Saul persecuted the SAINTS! He was present at the stoning of Stephen,Christianity's first MARTYR! Yet GOD forgave him! THAT is why in his letters,he calls himself the "CHIEF" of sinners! He PROVES just how deep GOD's LOVE really is! And how one CAN change--if one REALLY DESIRES TO with GOD'S HELP! He went from vicious SINNER to Victorious SAINT! Forgiveness of sin is what Paul recieved...But he had to STOP SINNING to recieve that forgiveness...GOD saves NOONE that will NOT let Him rule over them! Like Paul, there must be a total CHANGE of HEART!

Simply because the word "persecute" comes from the Latin, 'to pursue', and it means "to harass or punish in a manner designed to injure, grieve, or afflict; specifically : to cause to suffer because of belief," according to the dictionary.

Killing and murder are at the far end of that definition...

Peace be with you.
