for coffee or something? He went out of his way and gave me a bunch of free stuff for my cell phone, and even upgraded the model. I don't think he was supposed to do that.

How should I show gratitude?

The question is, do you want to? Don't take some guy out just 'cause he was nice to you. Just say "thank you very much for all your help", and go on your way. Unless you want more from the relationship. Then, take a cool thank you card with you, and give it to him, letting him know that you really appreciate all the extra effort he did for you. Then, see where it goes from there. If he wants it to go farther, it will give him the opportunity to ask you out. You want to leave the ball in his court, in case he has a gf or wife. You don't want the hired help to see you hitting on a guy who's taken, right? So, just play it cool, and see where things go. <*)))><

just say thank you and that you really appreciate his kindness and ask him how he would like you to return the gesture.
