yes they can, i have 2 jack Russell's, a staffie, and 4 cats
the 2 Jacks are the newest member of our growing family, the cats hissed at 1st, but after a while they get on fine, 2 of my cats snuggle up to the Jacks and go to sleep together........ :-)

Jack russells are working terriers who kill and eat game. They will regard a cat as game. If you are an experienced dog person who has the knowledge to train this breed you could likely get one to accept a cat - I'd not want to try it!

I have a westie which is similar charater wise being a terrier. My westie adores our cat but if she sees another cat in the garden then all hell is let loose. Your pup will just see the cat as part of 'the pack' and will be fine.

we have a two year old jack..he loves chasing cats. Its his hobby. So when we decided to get a cat..we were unsure as to what he would be like with it. After keeping them in the house together for a week..and introducing them carefully..we have two happily co-existing friends who bathe in the sun together..it is remarkable the change in the jack..he still likes to chase strange cats though...so it can be done..if done with care!

As its a puppy yes.
If he tries to attack the cat have a fake cat around his neck loosley all day and he will not attack the cat or if you put both in an empty room seperated by see through door then the dog will learn to be quite and not aggressive to the cat.
Also dog trainers seem to help with that situation.

Jack Russels were bred as ratters! They have it bred into them to hunt out rats and kill them! How big is your cat?

Yes.
Is it "easy"??
NO!
They'ev been SELECTIVELY BRED for hundreds of years to KILL vermin like cats!
Some folks have even discovered they've taught them to leave "their" cats alone & been surprised to have em kill the neighbor's! LOL-ooooooooops!
