If you're restricted to the city limits of Hollywood proper (which I don't know why you would be), I would recommend exploring the obvious tourist destinations, like the Hollywood sign and Grauman's Chinese Theatre, but then branch out and visit some more unlikely areas. Sure, get the Walk of Fame and all that touristy crap out of your system, but also check out more recent hot spots, like the Hollywood & Highland Center, the recently-completed Kodak Theatre (permanent home of the Academy Awards and the "American Idol" finales), and if the two of you are into live comedy, check out The Laugh Factory on the Sunset Strip (just make sure Michael Richards isn't performing). If that doesn't satiate your need for things to occupy your time with while exploring Hollywood, there's also the historic Hollywood Bowl, the Hollywood Wax Museum, and of course, Universal Studios. Have a nice trip.

Go to the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and look at the stars in the sidewalk. Take her to see the Capital Records building -- kind of ugly, but looks like a stack ofrecord albums. Go to what used to be Mann's Chinese Theater and catch a movie, I once stood in line with Ron Howard three people behind me. Take a drive down Rodeo Drive, it's just around the corner. Check out who's headlining at the Hollywood Bowl. Then, take her to Universal Studios and tour the back lot.

I agree with the previous poster about Yamashiro, but expect to pay a little extra money there (it's fairly expensive).
Take her up to the Griffith Park Observatory. It's a historic landmark (and it was in "Rebel Without a Cause") --- you need reservations, but it's free and it provides a wonderful view of the city.
Head downtown and visit the Grand Ave. district. There you can check out the MOCA, the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels (not to be missed, if only from an architecture point-of-view), and the Disney Conert hall (ditto about the architecture).

Take her out to dinner at Yamashiro's. It is the most beautiful, Asian restaurant, and is set in the Hollywood hills. It has a view to die for! Be sure to make early reservations, so you can get a window table and don't forget to get directions...it's hard to find.
