Unfortunately, since they are providing a service, it would be considered rude to snap your own. Santa at the mall has to get a paycheque, and those picture prices pay for that.
Now that being said, they are expensive, and I think it's ridiculously stupid to be charging the amounts they are. But it's yet another example of how commercialized the entire holiday has become.
Check your community listings .... you'll likely find community centers putting on christmas parties for kids where Santa makes an appearance, and then it doesn't cost you a thing to snap a few pictures. Kids shouldn't have to be disappointed because the local mall wants to charge $20 for Santa to hear their wishlist.

Ask the photographer and Santa. Maybe a couple dollar tip to both and they wouldn't have a problem. But Santa and the photographer both probably get a cut of the take everyday.

i think of who ever is looking the different to circulate out, may be the only to pay and you may definately no longer alway being paying. I easily does no longer mooch off somebody each and every of the time, nor do I easily have that expectation I hate the fact that basically bc you will possibly be able to earn a miles better paycheck, ability you are the breadwinner. places incredibly some stress on the breadwinner and deflates the ego of the different persons efforts.

Look for places that offer free pics. Cycle barn last year had free pics with santa on a quad and my son loved it.

i dont see a problem with it. every child deserves to have a pic w/ santa. its a tradition and not everyone can afford to pay for pics.

I would think you could take your own picture. Is there a rule that you can't? If not, snap your own.
