I'm 23 and ready. I could make a man very happy. I am financially secure, take care of myself, am family-oriented, and I am college educated. My family however, does not agree with me regarding marrying a man of means. They think it would be a big mistake to look for and set my sights on men who have money. I say I worked hard to become financially secure, and I don't want to marry someone who makes less or has less than I do.
I know many women think women should take care of themselves and that's fine for them. But I really want someone who is willing to take care of me.

This is a good discussion. I agree with you on the aspect that you have worked hard to achieve your goals yet you still want to be the woman and have a man play the role of provider. There is nothing wrong with that. On th flip side if you are looking for a man that is very wealthy there are some serious disadvantages to this. I have several friends who are are or were married to men very wealthy that owned their own businesses. All of these relationships have ended or are currently in disasters. when a man has a lot of money he also has a lot of power quite different than a woman. All of their disasters have involved cheating, drugs and some are even controlling and physically abusive. Not to say all wealthy men are like this but you have to think about the consequences do you really want someone to be overpowering of you.

If that's all you care about, then that is your perrogative. Just know that a relationship, and especially marriage, requires a lot more than just one person having money. Money doesn't make people happy (if it did, then all movie stars that married each other would never get divorced, right)? How many times has Donald Trump been married? Or Zsa Zsa Gabor? Brad Pitt? Didn't work for K-Fed either. If money is all you care about, be ready to join the list of divorcee's, because that's where you'll end up.

I hope anyone that ends up marying you insists on a pre-nup.

It's good you can take care of yourself. I am not rich but I work hard I never cheated on my ex-wife I loved her and dated her every week we were together, meaning flowers and dinners, etc. ( Even after marriage.) I have been told I did nothing wrong by her, and she wished she had waited. My point is there are good guys out there who don't have the best of things but when a women says she only want one who is "blank" then she is giving up the chance to meet one who could be her true better half. Even if he makes less.
To sum this up I think it's selfish.

What's new? All girls want to marry a guy with money. What makes you different is you are financially secure to start with and don't wana marry someone who has less or makes less than you. Just mak sure the dude that fits this criteria is also someone that makes u feel gd otherwise it wil end in tears

Most women feel the same way deep down. Money issues are the leading cause of divorce.

I fit that mold, but what do you offer as in looks? I'm not going to support a ugly woman.

Therer is nothing wrong with what you want, but you have to be careful about settling. Good luck!
