Actually most religions consider themselves "better" than the others. It's the failing of man's small mind.

Just bag all the stupid religions in favor of love, kindness and peace.

I think most people have a very strong need to feel that they belong and that their life and their experience is worth something. It is the need to believe that we are all not just products of controlled chaos. This theory is also elaborated on in Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.
I think the belief that one religion is superior to another arises from the fact that if we thought it wasn't, why would we choose to be apart of it? What else would we use to spiritualize our existence?
People who are brought up with a certain religion are also very likely to believe in its superiority. There are some who rebel, but I think most stick to it because it is a predictable sense of security.
I think in general human beings dislike open ended questions and vagueness, etc. Believing in a religion and also believing that it is the right way to go solidifies concepts that would otherwise be unfathomable.

No one religion is considered better than the others.

ALL religions are considered better than the others, by those who follow them.

Those who realize that there is more than one way to achieve "salvation" stop thinking in terms of which religion is "best" and begin thinking in terms of which religion is "best for them". However, most of those folks end up leaving the major religions and their "holier than thou" policies.

Of course, most of those who choose to leave religious thinking behind as they seek their own "best" path, still believe that their new ideas are better than the old ones, and the pattern begins anew.

Show me someone who does not consider their spiritual beliefs to be "better than the others" and I'll show you an enlightened Master. :)

It depends where you born, We receive all the culture of Europe so with believe what they believe. For a Muslim we are the infidels and they pray to their true God, Asian peolple have they own religion and they also think the same.

There is no unique true religion, because every religion is made by men, in fact all religions say they receive the message by god.

But have you ever asked them why people who are not christian have different believes than ours? Is God have a different message from Africans or to Asians?? why Jewish receive the true and unique message from God?? Because they are the chosen people of God?? this is pure bull... God loves all of us not one small group of people because they "suffer more".

If you investigate more about it you will find Jewish people take ideas from other "pagan religions" (Babilons, Persians, Egyptian, etc etc) to make their own "true religion".

Without praising one, or condemning another-they are all different, so they can not all be right-especially if they contradict each other. The task here is to identify which is right-if any are right. Its is not hard to tell the difference if you are interested. If you don't care, you may never know til the end. Then everyone will know, and many will not be very happy.

The term religion is a farce. People think they can go to church once a week and they are saved and right with God. I am a Christian, I go by my Bible, I accepted Christ as my Savior. I get to God through his Son. Regardless of your 'religion' if you believe that you are saved by the blood of Jesus Christ then you are ok. It does not matter what title of religion you slap on it. We are all one in Christ.

Despite the vast piles of evidence otherwise in this forum, there actually are some religions that don't consider themselves better than the others.

And there actually are people who consider themselves to belong to one of them who realise that.

There's only one true religion, and that's the one that the speaker follows. Each believes that his is the only one that has all the answers. No, sorry, he KNOWS his is true while everyone else's is baloney.

All of the great religions have on common denominator, and that is to love others more than yourself, and in that love, your soul is free. Unfortunately, very few people practice what they preach.
