yes thats true, according to what we studied, the Pharaohs believed that they will be the same after death, thats why they used to build pyramids, tombs and put everyhting they use with the dead body so they can use them again in the afterlife.
in my opinion having some false beliefs doesnt make them stupid of ignorant, like some people here called them.
we cant call the people who made amazing stuff like building one of the world's seven wonders, invented mummification (which nobody in the world discovered their secret yet), created very strong ruling systems and very organized professions and many other accomplishments, and lets not forget they did that with no technology whatsoever.

Actually Strawberry, having just come back from Egypt..... it USED to be thought that tombs and pyramids were built by slaves, new evidence suggests that the workers did it willingly for their Pharaoh as he/she promised them help in getting through the journey to the Underworld!
To answer the question the Great Pyramids mean a lot of things, such as the rooms in them used for astrology, a symbol of the primitive mound (the first land that rose from the ocean of chaos - how they percieved the earth began). So yes and no... plus I cant remeber off the top of my head which kingdom the pyramids were built in, so I cant tell you if the Pharoah's were seen as divine at that time or not. Sorry

Maybe. Or they might just have been monuments to the ego of the pharaohs. It's a good thing the pyramids were built, though. Its from the mummified remains that they guarded that we know today that the Ancient Egyptians were White, not Black. The mummies have mostly red or blonde hair, and forensic anthropologists have no trouble identifying their skeletons as those of White people.

Excellent question.
Yes, I think so. Egyptians were very interested in the afterlife and very devoted to their Pharaohs. The tombs were always covered with elaborate jewels are symbols of wealth, for the Pharaohs in the afterlife.
Those pyramids are so amazing, I think they are so fantastic.

I believe that is the accepted explanation however there are ancient texts that show even the Pharaoh's closest advisers were involved in corruption and theft from Pyramids so perhaps their belief in the afterlife wasn't so great after all.

The pyramids are a product of the Jewish SLAVES that built them; a product of the Egyptian's ignorance about fulfilling false prophesies of false idols by enslaving a group of people they felt were lower forms of life because the Jews worshipped one god.
"Let my people go!!"....Does that phrase ring any bells?!
And Jewish people do not believe in any kind of underworld....which is most likely why the Egyptians made them slaves in the first place. Only a fool would volunteer to do such a job. But I can see why the modern, civilized Egypt of today would try to throw in some reasonable doubt...you know, like OJ Simpson?
