I have the Baby Phat one. I got it 2 years ago, and I stopped using it soon after. For me, there were too many fees, and putting money on the card cost about seven dollars each time. I don't know about you, but I work hard for my money and I like to keep as much as possible instead of throwing it away. Or in this case, funding Ming Lee and Aoki's college funds. I did keep the card though, because it's cute.

A Prepaid card is just that, Prepaid. You give them the money in which you want to spend to put on the card, like $2000. Once that money is out you have to send them more to put on your card. You are paying into this card yourself. I spoke to Citibank about one of their prepaid cards and that is what they told me. You don't get a statement saying you owe money, but the statement is telling you how much you have left to spend. I can only tell you it's worth it if you want it that bad.

I have a Netspend prepaid Mastercard (debit/credit card). I love it. I don't use banks anymore. My hubby and I have our checks direct deposited onto the card and they offer a savings account too. I pay most all our bills on line this way and shopping in town too.

Yes, it is very easy to manage and so convenient. You can even set up a direct deposit with your prepaid card. I highly recommend it.
