well if you have the money my ex sister in law just got engaged and he proposed at the eiffel tower. my best friend's fiance got one of her friends to sneak into her house while he took my friend to dinner so she could set the place up for him. he had her put tea lights lit up down the hallway leading to the bedroom with rose petals the bedroom was lit up with candles and romantic music playing and rose petals all over the bed and floor. he sat her down on the bed and got down on one knee. beautiful! but do anything that is special to you and your girl. try to think of her favorite things and incorparate them. if any of her friends don't have a big mouth you can get them to ask her her ideal proposal and do your best to create it.

Oooh...think we need a bit more info on this one, like what's your budget, what does your gf like or not like; will you have a ring already; should it be public or private; home or away? Also, how long have you been together cos I'd hate to encourage some hopeless romantic or some psycho who'd only met the girl two mins ago and whose obsession is unrequited!
My EX-fiance took me to a pub and every minute asked me the same 4 questions...
1) What time is it
2) What day is it
3) What month is it
4) What year is it
After him asking all this 5 times I thought it was the beer kicking and he was peeing me off till he suddenly added a Q5 - will you marry me?!
My response was
1) Eh?
2) Why?
3) What was all that about?
4) YES
The explanation was that he was only ever gonna do this once so he wanted to make dam sure I remembered it! That was at 8.20pm on Tuesday 6th December 1988. So I guess it worked! Except we split up on 13th December 1989 by way of me using the same tactic! I don't remember what day it was other than Hallelujah Freedom Day!!!
Am now happily married to a man who I proposed to a year later!
And that was Xmas Day 1990! Can't remember the day... I was too stuffed with turkey and trimmings!! And he accepted cos he was too stuffed with brandy butter!
Tell us more so we can give relevant ideas!

Here's the hard part: Pretend she never existed, like it was all a dream, don't call her, that will make you the smaller person, be the bigger person since you deserve better, what she did to you on Valentines Day was immature, especially after dating for four years. This person wasted allot of your time and through it out the window. Go out tonight, even it it is only yourself, don't drink and call or feel sorry for yourself, this will only cause you embarrassment! I know your hurting..This will eventually will go away in time. Today is not a good day for you and your emotions are spinning all over the place.
Please, whatever you do, don't answer her calls and don't call her. If she keeps calling, which she pro bally won't, don't return her call for 5 days. Make her sweat and DO Not get back together right away if you discuss this in 5 days. Tell her since she Broke up with you, you have done allot of thinking, and had the taste of "being single again" and you would like more time being "friends" for now, so you are sure you are making the right decision. Remember "She decided she didn't want to be with you" so the door is open for you to get out and see what you have been missing for four years. You honestly need to do this for yourself.
She doesn't know, but what she did was give you the best valentines day present you will ever get! A new start and a new beginning, use it to your advantage. You will look back on this and Thank God this happened now instead of 4 more wasted years of YOUR life. Today does suck, stay Strong and I promise you your life is going to be so much more exciting and you are going to be happy. If you continue to call and call her, she will think of you as needy and won't want you. She is going to rethink what she did to you today and will be hurt, if you act like you could care less. Girls always want the ones they can't have. That is who you are now to her. Let her suffer,realizing what a mistake she made. This will drive her crazy. Right now she is on cloud 9 thinking you will take her back, OH, is she stupid!
Your life isn't ruined, hers is..She lost someone special, and gave you a gift to let to live life and find someone you deserve. You are not getting back at her, your teaching her what an idiot she is and what she lost and what you gained without her. SO when You eventually talk to her, tell her thank you for what she did...
She will be hurt and you will be happy!

Think of something you enjoy doing together (other than the nasty) and come up with a creative way of asking her during that activity.
My wife and I enjoy eating sushi. When I proposed, I painted my proposal in the bottom of a sushi dish and took it to the restaurant ahead of time. When we were finished eating the sushi, she realized what was written on the bottom of the plate and was floored.
However, wherever and whenever you do it, be absolutley sure to get down on one knee. I didn't and I will hear about it until I die.
You might also want to ask her parents for their blessing ahead of time, an old but nice tradition.

My husband proposed to me in his living room. It was actually sooner than he had planned on doing it, but the moment was right. It was the most special moment. If you feel like you need to orchestrate something really big, that is up to you. My husband is so wonderful, that it would have been special no matter where or when he proposed. Do get down on your knee though. I just about cried when he did that. Best wishes!

I always thought the 4th of July during fireworks would be a great way to be proposed to. Just remember to get down on one knee and if you really want to impress her ask her dad for his permission first. I know if my boyfriend asked my dad for my hand I would cry because that would mean a lot to me.

what i did was get a really romantic suite one with a fireplace and jacuzzi put some candles around the jacuzzi got some of her favorite flowers brought to the room called her boss and cleared her schedule w/o her knowing picked her up from work and took her to the room she was very surprised the rest you can just play by ear the place we stayed had a casino a bar and restraunt to keep us busy it was a night i will remember forever...i asked her in the room before we went out for the night still got on one knee but i think its a little less akward than asking in a public place like a restraunt... good luck

Will You Marry Me? (dont say name or anything else)
along a main street where you live (one you know she has to pass)...make the background scarlet linen red....now, the trick is, that every woman will be thinking about who that post is for and will likely ask there boyfriends...
Wait, constantly with your ring at the ready until your girlfriend brings up the big *** poster she saw downtown, then say: "wow thats interesting...(get down on one knee and go)....
...."so will you" (open the box...cuz shes the one the billboard was for)...she'll be stunned off her a ss.

I proposed to my fiancee on Xmas day last year as soon as we woke up. She was crying for about ten minutes before I got an answer! Talk about not knowing how to react! I did make it clear though that she could only keep her present if she said yes ;-p
I think that what must have swayed her decision....
