Actually there is almost as much oil off the coasts of the US as in the entire middle east,but unfortunately we have too many highly misguided people keeping us from getting it.And if God were punishing us for all of the above western civilization would have died out centuries ago,we go through cycles where the religious nuts have power and all the things you speak of stop. Every drop of wealth currently flowing through the Islamic world is directly dependant on the west,every medicine saving lives in the Muslim world is directly dependant on the west.
