Dogs usually go in heat twice a year...so not sure if you mean the dog isn't having any heat cycles at all ever or if you think they are suppose to be happening more often. Also there are dogs who go through silent heats..they cycle but have no visible signs.

Just like any female there can be internal problems that effect her cycle. The only way to know if your dog is having problems is to have a vet check. The age and condition of the dog are all factors.

how many do you mean? actually it shouldn't miss any. probably there is an underlying problem. get the dog checked out. how old is the dog? she could have a disorder or cysts on the ovaries. sometimes when you don't mate the dog she may develop in infection in the womb. my suggestion is if it's a lot....get her checked out in case. never assume. it's the best thing to do.

If she is missing more then one season at a time, she may have cystic ovaries, or such that are causing the irregularity. She really should be seen by a vet.

Well, you really didn't provide enough background information to help us answer your question. How old is the lab? When was her first heat cycle, how many heat cycles has she missed? ...etc.
