whenever i try to update files and security messages from ms, i get the error code 0x80004005 and it won't allow me to download anything. i get the same code whether i try to use express or custom features. anyone know what the code means?

Are you using a valid microsoft XP key?
Search for this error in www.microsoft.com.

This problem may occur if a file that the Windows Product Activation (WPA) requires is damaged or missing. This behavior occurs if one or both of the following conditions are true: • A third-party backup utility or an antivirus program interferes with the installation of Windows XP.
• A file that WPA requires is manually modified.

For those having problems try this link. But have to say, the busier msn is, the more trouble you`ll have signing in. So leave it for a while and try again. Other option is to download yahoo messenger and import all your contacts into it from msn, then you can still chat with your friends but with another chat prog. Hope this helps
