Right below the back button there is a star. If you click that you will be in your favorites. There are tabs at the tob of that window thing it opened. one is favorites, another is RSS, another is History. Click on favorites and there you are.
If you click the start with a green addition sign over it you can add the website that you are on to the favorites list.

Look to the upper left side of the screen under the back arrow... this is the arrow that is white with a blue background and pointing to the left <---
The favorite button is the second star (the one with the green plus).

in between the back and forward buttons there is a round or star button.. that is the favourites button on Internet explorer 7

I think you mean Internet Explorer 7, in that case it is
at the upper left corner. It is the star.

upper left side by tabs. click the star and it will display favs. If you want the tradiotional links listed like in 6 go to view->toolbars->links
