When I was in high school, I was a straight A student. I also got suspended 4 times. Why didn't they expel me? Because I knew how to STUDY SMART. I was a sh*t of a kid - yet I knew how to work the system. The key is to: a) Understand and realise what you are required to know. b) Understand your deadlines. c) MAKE A TIME MANAGEMENT PLAN. d) Work efficiently - that is, work hard only on the items that are really important - assignments, exams etc. e) Stay motivated - constantly remind yourself why you are getting an education. f) STICK AT IT - you can still have a social life and have fun, but remember your responsibilities and ADHERE TO YOUR TIME MANAGEMENT PLAN. Anyone can do it - it's just a matter of organisation and targeted action. Go for it!

The guy who said that those who get straight A's dont have a social life is wrong. Yes you must study a lot but the most important thing is to study smart. Organize and balance your time well. For instance, instead of putting off revision of a certain topic your teacher had just taught you a few days before the exams, try revising HARD for it right away after learning it. The information is still fresh in your mind and it'll stick for longer than if u studied last minute. This will actually benefit you eventually cos you wont have a hard time understanding this topic b4 exams n thus takes lesser studying time - gives you more time for some social or leisure stuff ;)

Keeping a straight "A" average is difficult but with a good study strategy can be done. You need to determine what learning methods work best for you and use them to the fullest. For example, I am a visual learner so I need to write everything down that I want to remember in the future. By writing things down when I need to refer back I just visualize the paper that I wrote it on. Another thing is learn on a continuous basis do not think you can wait till the last minute and then cram; slim chance you will keep an "A" that way. I am just finishing my Associates degree in college and I have all "A" and only one "B"; can't tell you how disappointing that was. Oh well live and learn. Don't worry about those who call you a nerd or boring they will still be flipping burgers while you are running your own company. Good luck!

Not a dumb question...The secrets to good grade since most of your grades are actually based on homework and tests.

Its starts will homework. Good time management skills are required. Learn how to basically get your work done first before you unwind watching TV or the internet.

Once you get the homework routine down. Then get good study habits in preparing for a test.

After that...understand that plenty of good sleep before examination is the key to good performance.

That's a general outline...do more research and ask more people on how to perform this.

The easiest way is to first know what type of learner you are. I was the type that didn't need to pick up a book and I got Bs. So for me to get As, all I had to do is read a little hear and there.

Basically do what you do best and then do a little more than usual of that.

I think you should love all the subjects that you take. Focus in the class is important since it can help you learn better. study hard can't give you good results if you don't study smart. i mean that you should have study group. but if you are in exam right now, please don't be too stress, believe in yourself that you can do it.
