If it's OK to use extracts (like vanilla extract, etc..) they do make a rum extract. It's near the vanilla extract in the store. It's a very minute amount of alcohol since you'll only need a tsp. of it.

You might want to try using imitation rum flavoring found in your supermarket but not as tasty as real rum.

hey nellie why subject your kids to a flavor that only comes with alcohol?? why not think of another flavor?? like anise (licorice) or orange ( a sweet citrus flavor) or rootbeer? anything but rum...although there are extacts and flavorings without the alcohol....good luck

just use rum flavoring... like lemon, mint, orange, you can find it next to cake mixes, i have used it in rum cake and no one knows its not real rum.. good luck with your rum balls
