There's a very small playing field at $300, but it's possible.
Look to JVC, Panasonic, and Yamaha for their HTIB systems.
If you're just looking for speakers, I recommend Hsu Research.
Also, I would put Radiient Technologies on your short list too...

Onkyo HT-S780, 5.1 or 7.1 speaker setup. As far as rattling the windows this system will do it, BUT you don't have to turn it up that loud, and it still has superb sound! I have my dvd/vcr combo, zen mp3 player, ps2, etc. and room for more. Check out
http://www.us.onkyo.com/prod_class.cfm?class=Systems
there are also other models than the one I listed. Great system.

For television in a small room: 5.a million embody sound equipment with small satellite tv for pc audio equipment. For any length room, music sounds so plenty extra useful on a house stereo equipment than it does on a embody sound equipment.

The ONKYO HT-S590S is about $250.
It sounds pretty good.
It might not rattle your walls, but it has a clean, crisp, and accurate sound to it.

For around $400, you can get the ONKYO HT-S790.
It has larger speakers than the 590, and has two more(it's a 7.1 seup).
This will give you the "cineplex" experience, rattle your walls/windows and still sound good for music.

The 590 has slightly better midrange than the 790, but the 790
has a better overall sound.

Hard to do at that price but not impossible. You may have to go used too.
