I first saw the phrase in reference to the beautiful pendant found at this website:

I've tried looking online to see just what is meant by a Rumi motif, but haven't found anything clear. Is the name derived from Rumi?

It is possible that the site you referenced related the Rumi motif to the dance of the whirling dervishes, possibly started by Rumi.

I did a little surfing but didn't, like yourself, find any clear definition.
