All religions do lead to the same God. God gives us the choice to practise and worship him through different methods based on what different cultural beliefs there are in the world. You won't go hell, cause you followed one religion over the other, as long as you believe and accept him, that's all he really wants in return for what hes done and given us. Bibles, gospels, scriptures all that is based on centuries old interpretations from ancient cultures, I don't believe any religion has gotten God's true meaning right, and I don't think they ever will as long as people are ignorant to the idea that their way is not the only right way.
Something I have never received a straight answer for and that I always ask people who knock on my door or approach me in the street and try to tell me that my eternal soul is in danger if I don't convert to their religion is: That if God is all knowing, all loving, forgiving etc., why would he put so many different people on Earth and then tell us that we all have to be the same to be accepted or loved by him? If God is supposed to be forgiving and loving wouldn't he accept all the different ways people love and worship him?

Religion is nothing more than a tool to help you feel closer to God. If not eating pork makes you feel closer to God - then great - don't eat it! If wrapping a big sheet around you helps you feel closer to God - then by all means - do it. And if the best way for you to feel close to God and live a loving life is to just get up every morning and BE A GOOD PERSON - then do that. I believe with all my heart that God does not care.
Everybody should do their best - and how they go about doing it should be respected by others.
Any religion that tells you you'll go to hell if you don't do it their way is - well - to put it nicely - they are misinformed. And - just for the record - I don't believe in hell. God is LOVE. Nothing that is loving is going to make us burn for eternity. That's just silly.
So - I guess what I'm saying - is that you CAN'T practice the wrong religion. Religion is simply a tool to get you closer to God and to be a better person - and there just isn't any WRONG in that!
Namaste!

Since I know you're an atheist, it is possible to be a spiritual atheist. Spirituality being the way you connect to the world and the hearts of others. How do you go about that? Do you realize your connection to everyone and everything in this universe? You being a mass of cells that have been buzzing around in former forms living and not and have coalesced for a short time to form you. You sound more agnostic than atheist but if you're looking at religions, I would recommend Paganism, specifically, Wicca. I think you would like to hear what they have to say. Wiccans would generally agree that it's stupid to think that the existence of God is absolute. I think you would think of the magick as bulls*** but not all Wiccans cast spells.

You won't go to hell for those things. Those things are just different ways to worship. Religion is the language we use to honor God and there are many religions in the world just like there are many languages. But all languages are a form of valid communication.

Perhaps you should look at the Noahide Covenant from the bible given before the ten commandments and intended to be a universal message of what God wants from man kind.

.I think that it was not intended as a religion but a way of life.
If we all learn to love each other, forgive, and lead a good life then that is all god asked of us.People make things so complicated when in fact it is a simple thing .I am not perfect but i am trying.

Religion doesn't save anybody. Crying out to God when we are alone, humbling ourselves, and listening to God directly as he responds to us will lead us to God and to salvation. God loves a contrite heart.

But if you have that idea, then you have no faith in whatever religion you chose.
That is the basis of faith. For me, if I believe in the tenets of my faith, then it works for me.
Sicne no religion has God's Housekeeping Seal of Approval, one could argue, they are all right and they are all wrong.

That is the religion's hang up...not God's. There is no wrong path to God...it is found in your own spirituality in your own heart.
